Alex Karaban (ankle) to be evaluated in six days
Mon, Jul 6, 2026, 6:30 PM
Stamford Advocate
Alex Karaban (ankle) will be re-evaluated in six days.
Analysis: The 29th overall pick in last month's draft, Karaban injured his ankle during one of the Kings' final practices before the California Classic. He sat out all three games, including Monday's win over the Bucks, and the rookie won't be available when Sacramento begins play in Las Vegas at the end of the week. Given the timeline, there's hope that Karaban will be able to play at some point this summer, but that is not guaranteed.

Darius Acuff Jr. goes for 22 points vs. Milwaukee
Mon, Jul 6, 2026, 6:08 PM
Darius Acuff Jr. accounted for 22 points (7-of-19 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), three rebounds, three assists, one steal, two blocks and four three-pointers in Monday's win over the Bucks.
Analysis: After getting up 29 shots in his summer debut, Acuff toned it down a bit on Monday. The rookie guard shot 4-of-9 from beyond the arc but was just 3-of-10 from two, and he also committed more turnovers (four) than assists. Given where the Kings are, next season will be a rebuilding one for the franchise. While that bodes well for Acuff's playing time, fantasy managers should be prepared to take a hit in the efficiency stats.

Emanuel Sharp records 18 points, three assists
Sun, Jul 5, 2026, 1:11 PM
Emanuel Sharp finished Sunday's win over the Warriors with 18 points (5-of-15 FGs, 3-of-3 FTs), seven rebounds, three assists, two steals, one block and four three-pointers.
Analysis: Of the key Kings players active at the California Classic, Sharp was the only one made available for Sunday's game. The second-round pick shot 4-of-12 from beyond the arc and worked well with fellow guard Isaiah Stevens (18/1/4/1 with one three-pointer) to lead Sacramento to a second win in as many days. Given his experience at the college level, Sharp can play on or off the ball, which should serve him well with the Kings.

Emanuel Sharp posts 13/4/1/2/1 line in SL Debut
Sat, Jul 4, 2026, 1:49 PM
Emanuel Sharp finished with 13 points (3-of-11 FGs), four rebounds, one assist, two steals, one block and two three-pointers against the Nets on Saturday.
Analysis: Sacramento added Sharp with the 45th pick last month, and the experienced guard was able to make a well-rounded impact in his first game as a King. This stat line is similar to his college averages, where he was an effective scorer and good source of steals, though his field goal percentage was subpar. Sharp will continue to play a large role during summer league and may be part of the rotation as a rookie, especially with Devin Carter now in Atlanta.

Darius Acuff Jr. scores 25 points on 29 shots
Sat, Jul 4, 2026, 1:39 PM
Darius Acuff Jr. contributed 25 points (9-of-29 FGs), two rebounds, three assists, one steal and one three-pointer in a 79-76 win over the Nets on Saturday.
Analysis: The Kings' first-round pick last month certainly wasn't afraid to let it fly in his debut for the team. Acuff showcased plenty of offensive ability during his freshman season at Arkansas, and while he didn't get many assists in this game, he did have one to Nique Clifford with just five seconds left to win the game. Acuff is a talented offensive player, and if he continues to have this type of mentality, he'll put up gaudy numbers as a rookie, even if they come inefficiently.
Daeqwon Plowden
Scotto: Daeqwon Plowden gets standard contract
Thu, Jul 2, 2026, 12:54 PM
Michael Scotto
Daeqwon Plowden signed a two-year, $5.1 million contract with the Kings, according to Michael Scotto of Hoops Hype.
Analysis: Plowden had previously been on two-way contracts with the Warriors, Hawks and Kings. He finally got a chance to play with the Kings last year, appearing in 32 games and averaging 26.4 minutes. Plowden scored 10.8 points per game and had 3.0 rebounds per game. The Kings rewarded the 27-year-old for having the best season of his career, though he still isn't on the fantasy radar.
DeMar DeRozan
Report: DeRozan looking to accelerate Kings exit
Thu, Jul 2, 2026, 5:23 AM
Yahoo! Sports
Yahoo! Sports' Kelly Iko reports that DeMar DeRozan hopes to “accelerate” his departure from Sacramento.
Analysis: The writing has been on the wall for quite some time that the Kings want to kick-start their rebuild by moving on from a few veteran players. With Zach LaVine opting into the final year of a deal that will pay him over $49 million, it will be easier financially for Sacramento to move on from DeRozan, either via trade or the waive-and-stretch provision. According to Iko's report, DeRozan expects the latter to happen. Only $10 million of his 2026-27 contract is guaranteed, so spreading that money over three years would not significantly damage the Kings' finances. DeRozan turns 37 next month, but in the right situation he can still provide solid middle-round value in standard fantasy leagues.
Precious Achiuwa
Precious Achiuwa re-signs with Kings for two years
Tue, Jun 30, 2026, 10:07 AM
Chris Haynes
Kings re-signed Precious Achiuwa to a two-year, $11.5 million contract, according to NBA Insider Chris Haynes.
Analysis: Achiuwa had the best season of his young career last year as he averaged 10.1 points and 23.9 minutes in his first season with Sacramento. In the season's final 25 games, he averaged 15.7 points and 9.2 rebounds in 31 minutes per game. Achiuwa stepped up when the Kings dealt with injuries to its frontline. He's set to return as the backup power forward on a two-year deal.
Zach LaVine
Report: Zach LaVine to opt into final year of deal
Mon, Jun 29, 2026, 5:27 AM
Shams Charania
Zach LaVine has reportedly decided to opt into the final season of his contract.
Analysis: LaVine opting into the final season of his contract is unsurprising, as he will make a base salary of $49 million, a figure he was unlikely to match in free agency. The question now is where he fits within the Kings' rebuild. Between the selections of Nique Clifford and Maxime Raynaud in last summer's draft, and Darius Acuff Jr., Alex Karaban and Emanuel Sharpe last week, the franchise is clearly looking to build around its younger players. LaVine getting his usual offensive volume likely would not mesh with that, but his contract may be challenging to move if the Kings wanted to go that route.

Kings select Emanuel Sharp with No. 45 pick
Wed, Jun 24, 2026, 3:24 PM
Kings selected Emanuel Sharp with the No. 45 pick in the NBA Draft.
Analysis: After coming off the bench as a redshirt freshman, Sharp started all but five of the 111 games he played in the final three seasons of his Houston career. Last season, he averaged 15.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.2 steals and 2.6 three-pointers, shooting 37.2 percent from three and 89.1 percent from the foul line. Sharp's overall field-goal percentage was just 41.3, but his ability to knock down perimeter shots and compete defensively is where he shines. Between Sharp, Darius Acuff Jr. and Alex Karaban, the Kings have gone with players from successful college programs in this draft to help with their rebuild. What happens to Sharp's opportunities depends in part on what happens with Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan. If the Kings can move off of one or both of those contracts, more opportunities will be available.

Kings trade up to 29th pick, add Alex Karaban
Tue, Jun 23, 2026, 5:27 PM
Shams Charania
Kings selected Alex Karaban with the No. 29 pick in the NBA Draft.
Analysis: Karaban left college as one of the most accomplished players in the sport's recent history, having won a school-record 126 games and two national titles while at UConn. The 6-foot-7, 225-pound forward helped lead the Huskies to their third national title game appearance in four years last season, averaging 13.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 0.8 steals, 0.8 blocks and 1.9 three-pointers per game. While not a jump-off-the-screen athlete, Karaban's shooting ability and basketball IQ should serve him well in the NBA. Sacramento sent pick 34 and a future second-round pick to move up to 29 to add Karaban to the rotation. He may not provide much value for fantasy managers, but he should be a solid piece for the Kings.

Sacramento selects Darius Acuff Jr. with 7th pick
Tue, Jun 23, 2026, 2:48 PM
Kings selected Darius Acuff Jr. with the No. 7 pick in the NBA Draft.
Analysis: Acuff's lone season at Arkansas was an outstanding one, especially once postseason play began. The SEC Player of the Year, Acuff led the Razorbacks to an SEC tournament title and a trip to the Sweet 16. A consensus first-team All-American, he averaged 23.5 points, 3.1 rebounds, 6.4 assists, 0.8 steals and 2.5 three-pointers per game, shooting 48.4 percent from the field, 44.0 percent from three and 80.9 percent from the foul line. Acuff is an uber-talented offensive player that should have the keys to the team from day one. There is plenty of potential for him to post some gaudy counting stats as a rookie, though he may face some of the efficiency issues that many rookie guards deal with.
Domantas Sabonis
Report: Sabonis could be available via trade
Sat, Jun 6, 2026, 10:28 AM
The Stein Line
NBA insider Jake Fischer reports that rival teams expect the Kings to make Domantas Sabonis available for trade this summer.
Analysis: The scuttlebutt surrounding the Kings heading into the February trade deadline was that the team would look to move some of its veterans to kickstart a reset of the roster. No one was moved, and Sabonis underwent season-ending surgery to repair a torn left meniscus during the All-Star break. The veteran center once again being the subject of trade rumors is unsurprising, especially considering the Kings' struggles and current salary cap situation. The Kings hold the seventh overall pick in this month's draft, and Sabonis' future could affect that, as well as Maxime Raynaud. Raynaud earned second-team All-Rookie honors and started 56 of the 74 games he played.
Keegan Murray
Keegan Murray (ankle) sidelined 6-8 weeks
Sat, May 16, 2026, 10:12 AM
James Ham
Keegan Murray (ankle) underwent an arthroscopic procedure on his left ankle, with a six-to-eight-week recovery timeline.
Analysis: Murray, who initially injured his left ankle in early January, aggravated the sprain during a February 25 game against the Rockets. That was the last game of the season for the Kings' forward, who underwent a “minimally invasive” procedure on May 12 to remove loose bodies from the ankle. With the six-to-eight week timeline, Murray being ready for the start of training camp in late September should not be an issue. In addition to health, his fantasy outlook in 2026-27 will depend on whether the Kings can move some of their veterans this offseason.
DeMar DeRozan
DeRozan, Westbrook, Monk ruled out vs. Portland
Sat, Apr 11, 2026, 6:18 PM
NBA Injury Report
DeMar DeRozan (hamstring), Russell Westbrook (foot) and Malik Monk (personal) are out for Sunday's game against the Trail Blazers.
Analysis: The three veterans won't be available for Sunday's season finale. The absences of DeRozan, Westbrook and Monk have benefited Devin Carter, Nique Clifford and Daeqwon Plowden. That will remain the case on Sunday, with Carter coming off a 29-point effort in Friday's win over the Warriors.
Keegan Murray
Keegan Murray (ankle) ruled out vs. Portland
Sat, Apr 11, 2026, 6:15 PM
NBA Injury Report
Keegan Murray (ankle) is out for Sunday's game against the Trail Blazers.
Analysis: Murray was cleared to resume contact on March 25, but he'll end the season with his last game action occurring on February 25. Nique Clifford and Daeqwon Plowden have seen their minutes increase substantially over the final month of the season, and they should play plenty on Sunday.
Daeqwon Plowden
Daeqwon Plowden turns in 20/9/3/2 line vs. GSW
Fri, Apr 10, 2026, 7:13 PM
Daeqwon Plowden lit up the Warriors with 20 points (7-of-16 FGs), nine rebounds, three assists, two steals and three three-pointers on Friday.
Analysis: Plowden continues to pour in the points for the Kings. This was his fourth 20-point game of the season, with all of those coming over the past month. He spent most of this season in the G League, but he has taken advantage of his opportunity to play a larger role role since the trade deadline. He has played well, which should continue in the season finale on Sunday.
Daeqwon Plowden
SAC start Carter, Nique, Plowden, Achiuwa, Raynaud
Tue, Apr 7, 2026, 3:45 PM
NBA Lineups
Devin Carter, Nique Clifford, Daeqwon Plowden, Precious Achiuwa and Maxime Raynaud will start Tuesday's game against the Warriors.
Analysis: The Kings won't have DeMar DeRozan for Tuesday's game, opening up a spot in the starting lineup. As a result, Plowden will start and he is worth streaming in active fantasy leagues.
DeMar DeRozan
DeMar DeRozan (hamstring) out Tuesday vs. Warriors
Tue, Apr 7, 2026, 10:03 AM
DeMar DeRozan (hamstring) is out for Tuesday's game against the Warriors.
Analysis: DeRozan has been ruled out after he was initially listed as questionable with a sore right hamstring. Daeqwon Plowden started the last time DeRozan missed a game and could move into the starting lineup again with the 36-year-old shooting guard sidelined.
DeMar DeRozan
DeMar DeRozan (hamstring) questionable vs. GSW
Mon, Apr 6, 2026, 2:24 PM
NBA Injury Report
DeMar DeRozan (hamstring) is questionable to play against the Warriors on Tuesday.
Analysis: DeRozan missed a game with the same hamstring issue about a week before this, and there is a chance he misses another. Daeqwon Plowden started that game in his stead and would likely occupy that role again if DeRozan is unavailable.
